What is AmazeWoW?

AmazeWoW is a development initiative with internship and FTE SDE (Full-time Software Development Engineer) opportunities for Amazon in India, focused on bringing in top tech talent from engineering institutes. AmazeWoW aims at building a gender balance at the entry level for SDE role, so that with the Amazon's talent nurturing environment, the future leadership pipeline of Amazon technology team is more diverse.

We are looking for a passionate, hard-working, and talented Software Development Engineer who can build innovative and mission critical system software applications and tools. You will have an enormous opportunity to make a large impact on the design, architecture, and development of consumer products. You will be responsible for delivery and support of large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications and tools.
Responsibilities Include
- Ability to design and code right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.
- Drive best practices and engineering excellence.
- Work with other team members to develop the architecture and design of new and current systems.
- Work in an agile environment to deliver high quality software.
Location will be at the sole discretion of Amazon and can include (not an exhaustive list) - Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Delhi.
A Bachelor’s/ Master's degree with >6.5 CGPA in Computer Science/Information Science Engineering or equivalent combination of technical education.
- Strong, object-oriented design and coding skills (C/C++ and/or Java preferably on a UNIX or Linux platform)
- Good understanding of design patterns, data structures, algorithm
- Experience with distributed systems, algorithms and relational databases
- Excellent coding & problem solving skills
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to think about problem statement and build optimal solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

AmazeWoW is an effort by Amazon to help the aspiring engineering students prepare for the interviews for internship and final placements. The platform offers an opportunity to students to interact and learn from the Amazon Tech leaders - get insights on what to expect during interviews and brush up their knowledge and understanding of the most frequent topics asked during interviews.
How does AmazeWoW work? X Open
AmazeWoW offers a series of learning sessions to students to help them prepare for internships and job placements. The sessions will be facilitated by Amazon Tech leaders for registered students on a scheduled date and time.
Is Amazon offering both full-time and internship roles through AmazeWoW? X Open
Yes, AmazeWoW is for candidates who are in their 2nd and 3rd year of engineering, providing both Internship as well as full-time opportunities. Students registered in AmazeWoW will be considered for the following:

6M Internship (Jan-June) 8th Semester/Final semester
FTE Internship 8th Semester/Final semester

What is the eligibility for internship/placement? X Open
a) Applicant should be enrolled in a 4-year B.Tech/BE or 2-year M.Tech/ME program
b) Specialization in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, and Electronics
c) Year of graduation should be 2021 for full-time positions and six month internship (Jan-June 2021)
d) Year of graduation should be 2022 for summer internship (May-June) positions
e) CGPA should be 6.5/10 and above
f) No backlogs in any year/semester of engineering
I interned at Amazon, but did not convert as an FTE. Can I apply for AmazeWoW? X Open
Candidates who have interned with Amazon in the last 6 months and have not received a full-time offer based on internship are eligible to re-apply for any Amazon position only after 180 days post exit. So, if the internship end date and AmazeWoW registration date are 180 days apart, the candidate will be deemed eligible.
I will be interning at Amazon this summer. Can I apply for AmazeWoW? X Open
No, students who are interning with Amazon will have an opportunity to get an FTE offer through their performance and hence are not eligible.
Till when is the portal open for registrations? X Open
The portal is open from April 20th , 2020 till May 5th , 2020 for registrations.
How will I get to know about the sessions? X Open
You will get a notification on the registered email id and SMS on registered mobile no.
What is the process of registration? X Open
All candidates need to apply through the registration link. Candidates can register only once.
Can I reschedule my online test? X Open
No, the online test can’t be rescheduled.
Can I change my interview location? X Open
No, Amazon will try to map you to the preferred interview location. However, the Amazon allocated interview location will be final and no request for change will be encouraged.
What would be my work location if I get an offer? X Open
Work location allocation depends on the business. The work location communicated by amazon will be final and no request for change will be encouraged
Can I reappear for this event if I have given my interviews in the past six months? X Open
No, as per the eligibility criteria, students who appeared for Amazon interviews in the last six months are not eligible.
If I get a final offer, will my interview location & work location be same? X Open
No, offered candidates will be mapped to a location on basis of the business requirement.

How will I know if I am shortlisted for online assessment? X Open
If you have met our eligibility criteria you would have received an email from amazewit to confirm that you have been shortlisted for the online assessment.
What topics does the online assessment cover? X Open
The online test will cover topics around Data Structures, Algorithm, Problem Solving, Object Oriented Programming & Networking and OS etc.
If I don’t clear the test will I be barred from reappearing from Amazon’s selection process? X Open
No, if you do not clear the test, you can reappear for Amazon’s Interview process if they visit your campus.
Will there be a different test for CS and Non CS students? X Open
No, the test remains the same across all branches.
Will the test be based on the webinars? X Open
The webinars are conducted to help you prepare for the interview process. Webinars will cover various topics to help you brush-up your knowledge. However the online test is not based only on the content being shared during the webinar.
Is it necessary to attend the webinars? X Open
It is not mandatory to attend webinars, they are only to help you enhance your knowledge around certain topics.
What is the difference between watching a live webinar and recorded versions? X Open
In a live session you can interact with the facilitators, ask them questions and clarify your doubts which you may not be able to do on recorded versions of the webinar.
What is the duration of the test? X Open

2022 graduates – 150 mins.

2021 graduates - The online assessment test supports all programming languages and is language agnostic.
2022 graduates – C, C++, Java, Python, C#.

2021 graduates - The test will be a combination of MCQs as well as Coding questions.
2022 graduates - Code debugging, code test, Computer adaptive test, Logical ability test.
